If your Skywork custom domain is not working, even after setting up DNS correctly — you’re not alone.
I recently helped a client who waited over 30 hours for their website to go live, only to discover the issue wasn’t DNS at all.
In this guide, I’ll show you exactly what went wrong, how we diagnosed it, and the fastest way to get your site live.

The Problem
A client came to me with a frustrating issue:
My website is built with Skywork, my domain is with IONOS, but it’s not going live even after 30+ hours.
Fiverr Buyer
They had already:
- Contacted IONOS support
- Configured DNS records
- Waited for propagation
…but the website was still not working.
Initial Diagnosis
At first glance, this looked like a typical DNS issue:
- Incorrect A record
- Missing CNAME
- DNS propagation delay
But something didn’t add up.
👉 30+ hours is more than enough for DNS to propagate.
So instead of guessing, I followed a diagnosis-first approach.
Step 1 — Check DNS (IONOS)
Everything looked correct:
- Domain active
- DNS records properly configured
- No conflicts detected
So the issue was likely not with IONOS DNS.
Step 2 — Check Skywork
This is where things became clear.
Inside Skywork:
- No “Custom Domain” option
- No DNS instructions provided
- No A record or CNAME values
After digging further, I found this:
Custom domain feature will be launched soon

🚨 Root Cause
At the time of writing:
👉 Skywork custom domain support is not fully available yet
Even though:
- Documentation mentions it
- The feature exists in theory
👉 It is not accessible in all accounts.
Why Your Domain Is Not Working
Here’s the key insight:
- Your domain (IONOS) → configured correctly
- Your website (Skywork) → cannot accept custom domains
So:
👉 Your domain has nowhere to point to.
Common Mistake
Most people assume:
If DNS is correct, the website should work
But in this case:
👉 The issue is the platform — not DNS.
✅ Quick Fix (What Actually Worked)
To get the site live immediately, I used:
Frame Redirect (IONOS)
Configuration:
- Domain forwarding → Frame redirect
- Your website (Skywork) → cannot accept custom domains
Result:
- Website became accessible instantly
- Domain showed the site
- Client confirmed everything was working
⚠️ Limitations of This Method
Frame redirect is a workaround:
- Uses iframe behind the scenes
- Not ideal for SEO
- Depends on platform compatibility
👉 Good for temporary use only
✅ Long-Term Solutions
Option 1 — Static Website
- Rebuild site using HTML
- Host on your domain
Best for:
- Simple websites
- Minimal updates
Option 2 — WordPress (Recommended)
- Full content management system
- Easy updates
- Scalable
Best for:
- Business websites
- Regular content updates
Should You Wait for Skywork?
Skywork may release custom domain support soon.
However:
- No confirmed timeline
- Not available in many accounts yet
👉 Not reliable for live projects right now.
Final Result (Client Case)
- Website live
- Domain accessible
- Problem solved quickly
Without:
- Endless DNS changes
- Guesswork

Final Thoughts
This case proves one thing:
Not every DNS issue is actually a DNS issue.
Sometimes, the real problem is:
👉 The platform itself.
