The Hunger Games Part 2: Catching Fire Scheduled for November 2013

As we all expected, the sequel of this year’s hollywood hit The Hunger Games is scheduled to release on November 22, 2013. It’s named The Hunger Games 2: Catching Fire. And project is under new director.

Why New Director?

I never thought this this movie will come this far when I first hear about it. But it made it. It’s currently at the second place of my list of Hollywood hits this year. The directory Gary Ross did an excellent job with the movie. It surely will end up in top five on yearend charts. So what went wrong with director? Shouldn’t he be the one who complete this series?

Gary Ross says that he don’t want to repeat himself in the Catching Fire. But he’s not Steven Spielberg to quit a winning project like this. The Hunger Games was the most successful project in his carrier. I can’t think of what made Gary Ross to quit this project. Fans are already excited about the sequel, and we know how story goes on second novel. It definitely will be a hit.

Although Ross said he doesn’t want to repeat himself, he already started to work on Catching Fire last year. He even drafted screenwriter for the project.

And I remember first Twilight movie which was also by LionsGate, it was a hit too. I don’t like it as I like Hunger Games, but I liked it. It was a great love story. And then the same thing happened with the director, she quit the project. New Moon was a mess. And I stopped following the series. I haven’t watch Breaking Dawn till now. And I don’t think I will watch it in the future. I’m so done with it.

I hope it won’t happen to this series.

Story on Caching Fire

According to Access Hollywood, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) will be forced to go to the Capital again to attend a once in a 25 years special even called The Quarter Quell. In The Quarter Quell, they will again have to fight for their lives. It will be “Kill or Get Killed” competition just like Hunger Games, but with the past winners of the Games. People who came out alive from the Hunger Games for past 25 years will meet in the Quarter Quell and they will fight to the death.

The story will go like that. It’ll be violence like first edition of the series. Katniss and Peeta will face new challenges in the sequel. And I hope new director; Francis Lawrence won’t screw things in Catching Fire.
